FG orders Kachikwu, Baru to clear fuel queues by weekend

The state oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), said rumours that pump prices would increase in the run-up to Christmas had contributed to the increased demand for petrol.

Baru, who was billed to receive the Forbes Oil and Gas Man of the Year Award 2017 in the British capital on Tuesday, flew back to the country to attend what he described as a "matter of urgent importance".

THEWILL reports that long queues have been witnessed in the country with speculations of an intending upward review of the pump price of petrol which made NNPC Group Managing Director (GMD), Dr. Maikanti Kacalla Baru, cut short his trip to London.
