Murdoch's property is "a wine growing estate in the Santa Monica Mountains at an elevation of 600 to 900 feet, five miles from the Pacific Ocean", according to Moraga's website.

The fires rampaging across Southern California have ripped through a Bel-Air canyon in the hills above the University of California, Los Angeles, an elite enclave where backyard tennis courts are the norm and Rupert Murdoch owns a US$30 million vineyard estate.

Southern California has been witnessing numerous fires burning over acres of land, ravaging homes and the winds are further making the wildfires so destructive that it is getting hard for the firefighters to tackle the situation.

Fire burning in Sepulveda Pass
