Israel launches fresh missile attack on Syrian military base


Israeli fighter jets have bombed areas near the Syrian capital Damascus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said.

The Syrian air defenses responded to the attack, destroying three of six missiles targeting the military base in the town of Jamraya, some 8 km northwest of Damascus, said the report. Syrian media reported that three of the Israeli missiles were shot down by air defenses.

Satellite photos released Monday night of damage wrought by a reported IDF attack on an Iranian military base outside Damascus, appeared to substantiate a number of Arabic media reports of an Israeli strike there last Friday.

Israel has targeted a military facility in Syria with a fresh round of missile attacks, according to Syrian TV broadcasters.

The reports state six missiles were fired at the facility.

It has also systematically targeted government positions in response to all fire into territory under its control, whoever launched it and regardless of whether it was intentional or not.
