Lilac Fire: Wildfire Breaks Out In Fallbrook, San Diego

A fast-moving brush fire is burning south of Fallbrook, near Bonsall along Interstate 15 near state Route 76 Thursday.

The fire is now at 100-150 acres with zero percent containment, according to Cal Fire.

The San Diego Sheriff's Office is handling evacuations for Lilac, according to North County Fire.

Two structures have been destroyed and 12 have been damaged.

San Diego County has proclaimed a state of local emergency in the Fallbrook area. Among the evacuated sites were a mobile home park, Bonsall High School, Sullivan Middle School, the Rancho Monserate Country Club and all neighborhoods along West Lilac Road. This is the latest among wind-driven fires plaguing Southern California.

Evacuation Warnings are in effect in North of Pala Rd.

The fire is at Old Highway 395 near Dulin Road, Cal Fire reports.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
