Google fine-tuned this FSOC technology while working on Project Loon, X's ambitious plan to place a network of balloons at the edge of space to bring the internet to out-of-the-way areas.

This is claimed to be first of its kind association in the world to provide wireless internet connection at a higher speed of upto 20Gbps and to a distance of upto 20 km.

X will initially supply AP with two thousand FSOC Links. And because there's no cable, this means there's none of the time, cost, and hassle involved in digging trenches or stringing cable along poles.

Actresses to wear black at Golden Globes to protest sexual harassment
It's not the only way awards hopes to address the conversation of sexual misconduct in Hollywood . It's safe to say, Harvey Weinstein is definitely one of the inspirations behind the color scheme.

The firm is working with a telecom operator in Indian state Andhra Pradesh, home to over 50 million people, to use Free Space Optical Communications (FSOC), a technology that uses beams of light to deliver high-speed, high-capacity connectivity over long distances. FSOC boxes can simply be placed kilometers apart on roofs or towers, with the signal beamed directly between the boxes to easily traverse common obstacles like rivers, roads and railways.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been signed between Government of Andhra Pradesh and Google X in San Francisco, USA.

Lokesh, son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, tweeted that X will be the state's innovation partner, deploy its resources and team to help achieve the goal of Digital Andhra. A team from Alphabet's X was earlier running a pilot on FSOC technology in Andhra Pradesh. Less than 20% of residents now have access to broadband connectivity, so the state government has committed to connecting 12 million households and thousands of government organizations and businesses by 2019 - an initiative called AP Fiber Grid.

Nazareth cancels Christmas celebrations over Trump's Israel decision
Christians are actually a minority in Nazareth, where 69% of the residents are Muslim and only 30.9% are Christian. President Donald Trump may not know how to celebrate Christmas - but he certainly knows how to ruin it for others.

Google X, a division owned by Alphabet and that deals in experimental technologies, is aiming to bring high-speed internet to parts of Andhra Pradesh using special boxes that beam light.

The idea for initiative came after Google X used FSOC to deliver information for its Loon connectivity project which uses hot air balloons to deliver internet connectivity in remote areas.
