United Nations condemns Yemen rebels' missile attack on Saudi Arabia

In the ensuing encounter, Tantray was killed whereas there was no information about the presence of the second militant, it said. The slain terrorist has been identified as Noor Mohammad Tantray aka Noora Trali, a resident Tral in Pulwama district.

Other UN officials said the coalition was maintaining tight restrictions on ships reaching Yemen even though 8 million Yemenis are on the brink of starvation with the country relying on imports for the bulk of its food, fuel and medicine.

On Dec 3, the World Health Organization said another wave of cholera could strike within months after the Saudi-led coalition closed air, land and sea access, cutting off fuel for hospitals and water pumps and aid supplies for starving children.

The latest emergency is diphtheria, a disease not seen in Yemen for 25 years, which has affected 312 people and killed 35.

The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen's Shiite rebels said it intercepted a missile fired over southern Riyadh on Tuesday, which the rebels said was targeting a "top leadership" meeting at the royal palace in the kingdom's capital.
