The National Coordinator of Yoruba Youth Alliance, Chief Jackson Lekan Ojo, has said ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar remains the best bet of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for winning the 2019 presidential election.
Majority of the people TVC News spoke to described Atiku as a desperate politician who has come to the end of his career.
He says the PDP has opened its gate for all who left the party and all who are willing to return and to contest on a level playing ground with those who have remained are welcomed.
Hon. Musa Bubakari Kamale, a chieftain of the APC and Director General of Marwa Organisation said Atiku's credential does not pose any threat to the ruling APC, insisting that Atiku only came a distant third behind Kwankwaso, during the APC presidential primary in Lagos on 2014.
Atiku on Sunday announced his return to the PDP following his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) a few days earlier.

After he was received by the spokesman for the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Atiku held a meeting with members of the National Caretaker Committee of the party led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi.
Addressing the crowd, the deputy governor thanked the defectors for the honour done to him by returning to PDP, just as he assured them that they would not have any cause to leave the party again. Whatever aspirations he or anybody coming to PDP may have, they will be free to pursue them.
"We need to make this announcement to all our party members and well-wishers that the convention is going to be for delegates and we are expecting a little less than 3,000".

In his response, the chairman of the convention planning committee, Governor Okowa, assured that the "electoral process will be free, fair and credible".
Okowa said only members of the committee, accredited delegates and the media would be allowed into the venue of the convention.
Okowa stated, "The venue of the convention is the Eagle Square". And we want to appeal to all of them campaigning to desist from doing that.
"For those who want to campaign for future election, possibly the presidential aspirants, this convention is not the place to display campaign posters or to display their intentions".
