In contrast, infrastructure devices based on 802.11ax Draft 1.0 chipsets (or variations of Draft 1.0) may not be interoperable with client devices based on Draft 2.0 chipsets. The Wi-Fi Alliance, a consortium of companies that designs and certifies Wi-Fi standards, isn't planning on certifying devices until later this year.

802.11ax uses the limited spectrum more efficiently, thanks to a tech called MU-MIMO, which combines multiple antennas on the same channel for faster speeds and a higher total bandwidth capacity. On top of that, streaming video is placing a heavier load on routers. Certain chips from Intel to be released this year will support the new standard. Also, Israeli chipset maker Celeno debuted 802.11ax products for embedded solutions. In addition, Intel's new 802.11ax home Wi-Fi chipsets will offer backward compatibility with older Wi-Fi technologies to support a breadth of client devices.

BMW M5 to reclaim world's longest drift with insane refuelling
However, to achieve this over an eight-hour period, BMW wants to somehow refuel the auto without stopping it. This had to be done five separate times throughout the course of the eight-hour, 232.5-mile drift.

Intel announced that its existing WAV500 Series 802.11ac chipsets could be upgradeable to the new standard. That could result in a suboptimal experience in which consumers could see degraded throughput, decreases in network efficiency and increased interference. Intel will expand its home Wi-Fi portfolio with new 802.11ax chipsets for mainstream 2×2 and 4×4 home routers and gateways for cable, xDSL, fiber and consumer retail devices.

But unlike some previous changes, 802.11ax isn't so much about pushing top speeds - it's more interesting for its ability to handle many devices at once, or work better in a congested radio environment.

Congress fight over Rahul's Bahrain speech
Accusing the Congress of having "double standards", Prasad said: "For the longest time, the politics of hate and communalism has been practised by the Congress".

The firm's 802.11ax home chipsets are designed with the always-connected nature of our current lifestyles in mind, allowing up to 256 devices to connect simultaneously. "Moreover, wireless transmission goes down entirely from SoC to Wi-Fi chips and thus provides the computer's engine with broadband designated for software and security functions".

Celeno Communications, the provider of smart, managed Wi-Fi solutions, has announced its Everest 802.11ax silicon solution created to address the demand for a high performance yet cost optimized solution as well as ensuring rapid migration of existing 802.11ac designs to 802.11ax, the company said.
