Gophers' Lynch recommended for expulsion in alleged assault

On Jan. 4, the EOAA notified both accusers that Lynch had been found responsible of sexual misconduct in both instances and recommended he be suspended from the university and banned from campus until August 1, 2020.

On Tuesday, Rochelle Olson and Brandon Stahl of the Star Tribune reported the third allegation "emerged" in a complaint and led to the recommendation of expulsion for the senior center.

The appeals process includes a hearing in front of a disciplinary panel, in this case likely a three-member panel of the Student Sexual Misconduct Subcommittee composed of faculty, students and local professionals. The SSMS has the ability to uphold or reverse the EOAA's recommendations.

He was suspended from appearing in games by athletic director Mark Coyle on January 5.

Lynch appealed the previous suspension and has five week days to appeal the latest, according to the Star Tribune.

Coyle declined to comment on specifics of the first case in a Friday press conference, citing student privacy laws.
