Seattle Seahawks fire offensive line coach Tom Cable

We start off re-capping the carnage with the Seahawks today as offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and offensive line coach Tom Cable have been fired.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) - What's expected to be an offseason makeover for the Seattle Seahawks is starting with its coaching staff.

Bevell's most controversial moment, though, came in Seattle's Super Bowl XLIX loss.

Seattle has been backsliding since appearing in the Super Bowl three years ago.

The Seahawks fired their offensive coordinator Wednesday after seven seasons with the team, the team announced Wednesday.

The reports that the 7.6 magnitude makes this one of the most powerful earthquakes to hit the Caribbean in modern day history. The quake was very shallow, at only 6.2 miles (10 km), which would have amplified its effect.

The house cleaning comes after the Seahawks disappointing season in which they posted a 9-7 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

Cable does have head-coaching experience, albeit marginal.

Seattle has yet to confirm either the Bevell or the Cable firings.

However, the last two seasons have seen a slump in the ground game. A native of Merced, Calif., he has made pit stops with college programs such as UNLV, Cal, UCLA and Colorado to oversee the offensive lines. Cable was given resources in the draft and occasionally in free agency, but the line never had the consistency for Seattle's offence to perform at its best.

Recently, Cable was linked as a strong candidate to become the head coach for the Indianapolis Colts, who fired Chuck Pagano upon the conclusion of the season.

Bevell has been calling the plays for the Seahawks offense all throughout Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin's impressive careers.

"We don't execute as a team".

"It's not play-calling", Baldwin said.
