YouTube star Logan Paul earlier announced he was stepping away from posting videos "to reflect" following an outcry when he uploaded images of the body and his reaction to finding it in the forest.

A spokesperson for YouTube tells The Verge and Polygon that "we built Google Preferred to help our customers easily reach YouTube's most passionate audiences and we've seen strong traction in the previous year with a record number of brands".

It took Google long enough, but the company responded, delivering a massive blow to Paul's career in the process.

Paul's next and last public communication was a tweet on January 3, where he said he's "taking time to reflect".

The first of YouTube's promised "consequences" for Logan Paul have come: the YouTuber's upcoming projects are now on hold. Google Preferred features only the top 5% of channels, and is where many premium advertisers focus their ad spend on YouTube, typically buying space at a higher CPM than for regular channels.

Furthermore, Paul will not be featured in season 4 of YouTube's original series Foursome, and "his new Originals are on hold". YouTube also cancelled the planned sequel to his 2016 YouTube Red movie "The Thinning".

"We believe this requires a new approach to advertising on YouTube, carefully considering which channels and videos are eligible for advertising".

The YouTube star Logan Paul has been punished for posting a video in which he joked about discovering the body of a Japanese man who had killed himself. The service released a new statement on Tuesday noting, "Many of you have been frustrated with our lack of communication recently. You deserve to know what's going on".

What do you think of the punishment and Logan Paul? The video was watched over six million times, and after the huge criticism, it was finally taken down. After Mr. Paul's post, many people began criticizing YouTube for not taking any action against him.
