Rep Maloney calls for full investigation of White House aide Rob Porter

Axios reports that Trump called Porter "sick" behind closed doors after DailyMail.com published the ex-wives' accounts of suffering long-term physical abuse.

On Monday morning, Fox & Friends' Ainsley Earhardt closed an interview with White House spokesman Hogan Gidley by begging him to urge President Trump to speak out more forcefully against domestic violence. Mrs. Sanders took the unusual step of stating that the president himself had "literally dictated" to her the statement that he supports victims.

Porter's last day at the White House was Thursday, and Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah described him as having been "terminated" in that day's news briefing.

"He also has full confidence in Hope Hicks, his communications director and long-serving aide", Conway said. But John Kelly has not offered his resignation. "I'm extraordinarily pleased with the job the chief has been doing".

White House budget director Mick Mulvaney - who also denied being considered as a replacement for Kelly - said Trump was naturally inclined to give someone he had worked with "the benefit of the doubt".

Grassley and Graham said the meeting included a discussion of the now-infamous dossier. Senators Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham seem to be probing that very question.

"You would have to talk to General Kelly about that", she said.

But Trump has grown frustrated with Kelly, once commended for bringing discipline to the West Wing but who recently has been at the centre of his own controversies.

There was no sign that a move was imminent, according to the people with knowledge of the conversations.

The episode has distracted aides from a number of policy issues on the president's agenda, like a new infrastructure plan and the immigration debate, according to senior officials.

"If they want to gum up the works and make the Trump administration's job harder and harder, they play bureaucratic slow rolls", Gorka said, offering no evidence to support his claim. His two former spouses alleged that the former Trump aide was emotionally and physically abusive.

Trump has been publicly defensive of Porter, telling reporters last week that he wished Porter well and tweeting Saturday that "peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by mere allegations".

"The president thinks that domestic violence is grotesque, he's said that on multiple occasions, there's no place for it in this country, there's no place for it in this White House, and the president won't stand for it".

On ABC, Conway elaborated that Trump believes "you have to consider all sides".

"In this case, you have contemporaneous police reports, you have women speaking to the Federal Bureau of Investigation under threat of perjury. you have photographs, and when you look at all of that pulled together, Rob Porter did the right thing by resigning", she said.

While media reports say the Federal Bureau of Investigation was told of allegations against Mr Porter previous year and that Mr Kelly had long known of them, Ms Conway said Mr Trump found out only along with other Americans. He said he worries about the ramifications such claims have on someone's career.

You won't BELIEVE what this woman did inside an airport X-ray machine
A video, which has gone viral on social media, shows the unidentified woman getting down from the conveyor belt. Even if you're particularly attached to your belongings, don't jump into an X-ray machine.

Trump's latest tweet comes at a time when many Republicans would prefer to see Trump keep the spotlight on a generally healthy economy and December's big tax cuts. "Some are true and some are false". He said the same thing in defending Porter publicly: "He says he's innocent and I think you have to remember that", the president said on Friday.
