If you are wondering what former THQ properties the two companies had purchased following the publisher's bankruptcy, here are some I remember; Deep Silver had acquired the Saints Row franchise and its developer Volition, the Metro, Risen, Dead Island, and Homefront franchises; while THQ Nordic acquired the Darksiders, Titan Quest, and Red Faction franchises.

In a press release, THQ Nordic explained that it has no plans now to restructure Deep Silver, which likely means that various studio jobs are safe. No restructuring or cost-saving programmes are now being planned. In addition, Deep Silver will be responsible for publishing the upcoming Shenmue III for both PS4 and PC.

In other words, THQ Nordic now owns the Saints Row IP and its developer Volition, the Homefront IP along with developer Dambuster, Dead Island, and the rights to the Metro series developed by 4A Games.

"Koch Media has a long history of profitability despite losses incurred from some less successful game releases", THQ Nordic CEO Lars Wingefors said in the press release. Any projects now under development at Deep Silver will remain, which hopefully means Dead Island 2 is still on the way despite its long, troubled development.

Kundratitz will retain his position as CEO and become a THQ Nordic shareholder. THQ Nordic apparently plans to allow Deep Silver to carry on unaffected as a separate company within a company, and have no plans to cancel any of the publisher's planned games in development.

Going forward, Koch Media will operate independently within the THQ Nordic group though it will be closely monitored "in order to ensure quality and a healthy return on investment on its large in-house development projects". That legacy may have just come full circle, as THQ Nordic has closed a deal to acquire Koch Media.
