Baltimore chef Cindy Wolf is again a James Beard Award finalist

The James Beard Foundation today announced the finalists for this year's awards, drawn from the much larger initial list of semifinalists released in February. The winners will be announced Friday, April 27, 2018. This is the third time she has been nominated for the national honor. Chefs Chris Kajioka of Senia and Ed Kenney of Town, Mud Hen Water, Kaimuki Superette and Mahina & Sun's, were semifinalists in the category of best chef in the western region, which also includes California and Nevada.

Kelly Fields of Willa Jean is a finalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef. She was also a nominee past year. The Bay Area's wine, beer and spirits scene received a lot of love grabbing, with four of the five nominations for top bar profession in America as well as nominations for top bar program and top wine program. Joe Briand, who had previously been the manager and sommelier at Herbsaint, is Bacchanal's wine director. Christensen is the only new name in the category; Link and Hamilton were finalists previous year.
