Jason Ballard, one of ICON's three founders says, "One of the big challenges is how are we going to create habitats in space", "You're not going to open a two by four and open screws". ICON can print an entire home for $10,000 and plans to bring costs down to $4,000 per house, whereas, some American homes, 200 to 400-square-feet in size cost almost $40,000.

Using ICON's Vulcan 3D printer, the collaborative effort aims to 3D print 650-square-foot homes that are affordable and sustainable.

New Story previously worked to build low-priced houses in Haiti, where other construction efforts failed after the 2010 natural disaster.

New Story is also involved in urban planning, and can build homes around schools, play areas and employment opportunities.

He had four aces but served poorly overall, making four double faults. "It feels insane . I mean, I'm still in shock", Anisimova said.

Recently some Americans also have chosen to downsize into smaller homes but these also cost almost $40,000 and are only between 200 and 400-square-feet in size.

Around 1.2 billion people on the planet live without adequate housing as per a World Resources Institute's Ross Center for Sustainable Cities Report. According to Alexandria Lafci, co-founder of New Story, the charity has also been 3D printing homes for communities in Haiti, El Salvador, and Bolivia.

One of the less obvious products being unveiled this week at SXSW is a small concrete house.

The firm has teamed up with New Story, a nonprofit that invests in worldwide housing, and plans to build around 100 new homes in El Salvador within the next 18 months.

He believes by "printing" the homes in cement, it will ensure greater durability and give customers greater confidence in the integrity of the home. The companies are targeting the end of 2018 for the first homes to be printed and expect to have the first 3D printed community completed by 2019.

As we've seen in cases both inside and outside of the construction sector, 3D printing offers many benefits other than just being very quick. A Silicon Valley-based company is using the technology in hopes of solving the financial housing crisis that has left a billion people without shelter. The company hopes to bring its housing to move countries in the future. The use of cement as a common material will help normalize the process for potential tenants that question the sturdiness of the structure.

Like other creating nations, Pakistan has likewise observed an ascent of demo models of 3D-imprinting on a little scale. In medicine, 3D printers can be used to create cheaper prosthetics.
