Xiaomi to launch 'slim, sleek and compact powerhouse' smartphone on March 14

The device sports a metal unibody design with rounded corners and has a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 1440×720 pixel resolution and aspect ratio of 18:9 which hint at thin bezels similar to Redmi Note 5.

Xiaomi Berlin is likely to be the codename of the smartphone, rather than the final name. The California and Mumbai-based company has sent invites for the launch event in Bengaluru on Tuesday, and the move appears to be aimed at taking on Xiaomi's recent foray into the Indian television market with cost-effective models. The new system-on-chip, however, will come with better support and optimisation for dual camera set up. According to Geekbench listing, the handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor. Being an unannounced chipset, there isn't much that can be firmly said about it at the moment.

All three phones run on Android Nougat (7.0), but while the Xiaomi phones run on MIUI 9.0, the Samsung Galaxy J7 offers more of a stock experience. The Xiaomi Berlin was benchmarked in February as per the listing. However, we expect more details to emerge in the following days. Within a month of launching two mid-range smartphones - Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro - the company has started teasing the upcoming device via its social media channels.
