After warning Russia, Trump tweets on possible Syria strike timing

Trump's tweet follows a threat he issued on Wednesday for Russia to "get ready" because the U.S. would soon strike Syria, regardless of Russian claims that such a strike would be met with a Russian counter-attack.

That walked back a Trump tweet Wednesday that announced strikes "are coming", and warned Syrian ally Russian Federation against trying to shoot the USA missiles down.

Even after global inspections and a USA air strike in 2017, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is being accused of using chemical weapons to attack civilians in Douma, Syria, on April 7.

Meanwhile, Russia have again sided with Assad and the Russian Ambassador to the UK, Alexander Yakovenko, has said: "The Syrian government had been repeatedly warning for at least a month that rebels prepared to stage a provocation with chemical weapons in this very area".

Mattis said options would be discussed with Trump at a meeting of his National Security Council on Thursday afternoon.

The findings were roughly the same for both men and women, suggesting recommended levels for both sexes should be the same. This increases with higher alcohol consumption, with those who have 18 drinks or more losing up to five years of life.

"When we were in our homes being attacked, we wished the global community could have done something to stop Assad massacring us", he said via Whatsapp from a refugee camp in Idlib.

Amid the talk of military action, the Kremlin, a close ally of Assad, countered that more "serious approaches" were needed to combat the crisis.

The Syrians have begun dispersing their aircraft to make them harder to hit, including sending some to airfields where Russian aircraft are based, betting that the US will not strike there, CBS News senior national security correspondent David Martin reported Thursday.

Since the attack, President Trump has been engaged in a spat with Russian Federation, which threatened to shoot down any USA missiles that might be launched against Syria in retaliation. "One night of airstrikes is not a substitute for a clear, comprehensive Syria strategy". A joint military operation, possibly with France rather than the U.S.in the lead, could send a message of worldwide unity about enforcing the prohibitions on chemical weapons.

British ministers have agreed to "take action" over the Assad regime's barbaric chemical attack on civilians at the weekend. It was not clear whether Trump and U.S. allies would wait for the results of the investigation before deciding on a possible strike. Jim Inhofe, an Oklahoma Republican, said the U.S. should "go over and bomb". "I'm actually more concerned on the other side and I think every day that goes by, we actually get ourselves more fully in position where it could create a geopolitical outbreak whereas if we had just done it, before the Russians and the Iranians, and the Syrians prepped for it, we'd been in much better shape". "The United States has developed a new generation of electronic warfare munitions and decoys created to help US strikes reach their targets, which could also see action".

President Trump's desire to prevent future chemical attacks in Syria has fueled speculation that the USA leader may authorize an attack that is more far-reaching than the one he launched a year ago.

The prospect of Western military action in Syria that could lead to confrontation with Russian Federation hangs over the Middle East but there is no clear sign a US-led attack is imminent.
