LeBron James reacts to Cavaliers failed comeback against the Sixers

Simmons gave that quote following a morale-boosting win 132-130 home win over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.

In one of the biggest games in recent Philadelphia history, the Sixers nearly squandered a 30-point lead, surviving a huge comeback from the Cleveland Cavaliers to squeak out a two-point victory, 132-130, a 13th win on the bounce.

The Cavs went on with it in the fourth quarter as the two teams exchanged runs, before James had a chance to tie the game up with 1.9 seconds left.

He played a vital role in the win at Dallas in October, totaling 23 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals against just one turnover while making ten of 15 shots.

Not only did the Sixers win their 13th consecutive game, but at 49-30 they moved ahead of the Cavs for the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

The 76ers of the past and present sure loved LeBron - but is that appreciation enough to make him a Sixer in the future? It was certainly a nervy finish for the 76ers who improve to 49-30 overall which is good for third place in the Eastern Conference.

James led a furious Cleveland comeback in the second half and finished with 44 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

"I've been coming to Philly for a while", James said.

He scored 21 points in the third and hit successive 3-pointers in the fourth that helped pull Cleveland to 111-109. James would not have to play an insane amount of minutes and can lead these young superstars on and off the floor. This would have been considered a successful season if the Sixers just made the postseason, but that's no longer the case. "The speed of the game, the pace they play at, they really took advantage of that early".

The Philadelphia 76ers are beating teams into the ground during this 10-game winning streak, but they're still without their best player, and when these teams met a couple of weeks ago, the Nets only lost by four points. With the success, the greatest debacle the 76ers are facing is the injury of Joel Embiid from concussion and orbital fracture.

Among the chaos, the free agency of LeBron James has been looming above the organization.

Luckily for them, the Sixers finally caught up on offense.

The 76ers stormed out to a 30-point lead in the first half and had 78 points by intermission before LeBron James heated up. "They've been playing so much without him that they still just keep the momentum going".

While there is no timetable for Embiid's return, Sixers coach Brett Brown believes "there is a genuine excitement and belief that he will be back for us" for the playoffs.
