Spotify, the world's largest music streaming service, said on Thursday it is to buy Loudr.fm, a San Francisco-based provider of licensing technology to help it to locate songwriters and pay them royalties they are due.

Those with existing Hulu Limited Commercials subscriptions are required to switch billing to Spotify in order to enjoy the offer. Any of the 71 million people now paying for Spotify Premium (in the US) will get the chance to trial Hulu for three months for just 99 cents, after which the subscription price will go up to $3 a month (on top of the Spotify subscription). Spotify Premium normally costs $9.99 a month and Hulu's Limited Commercials plan is typically $7.99 a month, so this new bundle option is $4.99 a month cheaper than subscribing to both separately.
