The suit was filed Monday in U.S. District in Grand Rapids and does not list the woman's name or the names of the players.

A Michigan State spokeswoman declined comment Monday when contacted by the AP.

In addition, Larry Nassar, who worked as an osteopathic physician for USA Gymnastics and was a faculty member at Michigan State, was sentenced in January to 40 to 175 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of molestation.

In the wake of widespread scandal, university president Lou Anna Simon and athletic director Mark Hollis have since resigned from their positions.

On the evening of April 11, 2015, the student and her roommate were at a bar in East Lansing when members of the basketball team walked in, the suit alleges. The woman, a journalism major interested in sports reporting, was offered a drink by one of the players and asked if she wanted to meet the "other guys" from the team. She then accepted a ride to the party from two players - the party was at one of their off-campus apartments - and there was no party and her roommate was not there. Once at the apartment - and realizing her roommate wasn't there - the lawsuit states the woman felt "discombobulated" and "tried to send a phone text, but she could not control her thumbs to formulate a text".

Another MSUCC staff person was brought into the room and told the woman that her options were to either file a police report or deal with the aftermath of the attack on her own, the lawsuit said. She began to wonder if she might have been drugged.

JD2 then asked the alleged victim if she would like to see some of his basketball memorabilia. "She was afraid and seeing what was going on in the community - and that she would probably have more support now".

She "was forcefully thrown face down on the bed, held in place so she could not move, while [the basketball player] raped Plaintiff from behind", according to the complaint. He then allegedly raped her from behind while she cried, unable to move or speak, according to the lawsuit.

When the first player stopped raping the woman, the player who bought her a drink and a third player walked into the bedroom and held her down, taking turns raping her, according to the lawsuit.

John Oliver slams EPA head Scott Pruitt
The Times reports that an EPA spokeswoman said all the trips were related to agency business. Apol said the EPA needed to "take action to appropriately address any violations".

In April 2010, a woman reported to the school's athletic department that she was sexually assaulted by Michigan State student assistant Travis Walton and two players, according to ESPN.

The woman also says university Counseling Center staff made it clear to her that if she reported it to police "she faced an uphill battle that would create anxiety and unwanted media attention".

"Plaintiff was so discouraged by the representations made by the MSUCC Counseling staff she became frightened to the point that she decided she could not report the rape (s) to law enforcement", it continued.

The freshman took that to mean the staff was implying it would be best not to go to police, and was told "if you pursue this, you are going to be swimming with some really big fish", the lawsuit said.

Jane Doe was also not advised by the counselors to get a physical exam, seek medical treatment or have STD or pregnancy tests. They had returned from playing in the NCAA tournament, according to the lawsuit, having lost to Duke University in the Final Four. Eventually she was forced to withdraw for the semester.
