Family of 7 found dead with gunshot wounds in Australia

What they found was the bodies of two adults outside, and another adult and four children inside the converted shed.

Aaron Cockman's former partner Katrina Miles, their 13-year-old daughter Taye and sons Rylan, 12, Arye, 10, and Kadyn, 8 were all found dead at a private property in Osmington on Friday (local time).

"I can only describe [it] as an horrific incident", Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said at a news conference, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. "We are stunned and still trying to understand how this could happen", they said in a statement.

Authorities have not publicly identified the deceased, but a family friend told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. that the seven victims were Peter and Cynda Miles, their daughter, Katrina, and Katrina's four children.

Police said they went to the scene after receiving a call from a man connected to the property at 5:15 am, but did not give further details.
