Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley charged the alleged "Golden State Killer" with first-degree murder on Thursday. Each murder charge comes with special circumstances and carries a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death sentence, Dudley said.

DeAngelo, 72, was charged with killing two people - Robert Offer man and Alexandria Manning - on December 30, 1979, and with the 1981 killings of Cheri Domingo and Gregory Sanchez in Goleta.

DeAngelo's attorney, Diane Howard, did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

Officials are looking at evidence to determine whether DeAngelo can be connected to any other crimes as well.

Pakistan VS Ireland Test: Match Begins Today, First Day was Washed Out
Pakistan resumed on 268-6, and test debutant Faheem Ashraf (83) and Shadab Khan (55) put on 117 for the seventh wicket. Only 11 Irishmen have played Test cricket, one for Australia in the very first Test in 1877.

Prosecutors say DeAngelo, a former police officer, was one of California's most elusive serial killers. Their deaths are the earliest attributed to the East Area Rapist, and DeAngelo is due in court Monday for a hearing in that case.

Investigators said the Golden State Killer found Offerman and Manning in bed before tying them both up and shooting them.

Actress Molly Ringwald recalled living in fear during her childhood as the Golden State Killer lurked nearby and committed crimes close to her home.

DeAngelo was identified as a suspect about two months after the case gained renewed attention in the book, "I'll Be Gone in the Dark", by journalist Michelle McNamara, who died in 2016 and was married to the actor Patton Oswalt.
