Maile capped an incredible night, lining a line drive over the wall in centre field off Boston reliever Brian Johnson for a two-run home run to send the Blue Jays to a joyous 5-3 12-inning walkoff victory over the Red Sox on Friday night.

Boston is 12-1 in series finales this season, winning its past six. One out later, Martin added an RBI single to get Toronto within 4-3.

Boston also maintained a share of the best record in the majors with the Yankees, who beat Oakland on Sunday.

As NESN's Dave O'Brien noted, Betts' play came in fair territory, and prevented Toronto from scoring its first run of the game.
