SpaceX's Upgraded Falcon 9 Rocket Soars With Satellite

SpaceX is also hoping that simple reusability of the booster will allow quick turnarounds with the potential of launching a Falcon 9 rocket twice within a 24-hour period.

The first Falcon 9 Block 5 version blasted off from Cape Canaveral at 1:14 p.m. The satellite will provide TV, internet and other telecom services to Bangladesh and the surrounding region. The satellite was successfully deployed into geostationary transfer orbit; the Block 5, meanwhile, landed on SpaceX's "Of Course I Still Love You" droneship in the Atlantic.

SpaceX has successfully launched a satellite for Bangladesh using an upgraded Falcon 9 rocket designed for dozens of repeat flights.

The boy injured was also 14, and police stated that he was taken to the hospital after being shot in the arm . It is unknown why or when the student was pulled from the school or if he had previous issues with officials.

The new Block 5 would change that; it would require little work between flights aside from inspections, refueling, attaching the payload and fairing. If successful, the rocket will blast Bangladesh's first geostationary communications satellite, the Bangabandhu Satellite-1, into space. The rocket is the final design of Falcon 9, and features modifications for simpler manufacturing, to meet NASA commercial crew requirements, and to include Air Force requests.

Block-5 marks the final version of the Falcon 9 lineup before SpaceX introduces its super heavy-lift launch vehicle, dubbed the Big Falcon Rocket, or BFR, which will be created to send manned missions to Mars.

The Block 5's upgrades take another step in this direction. They will eventually be used to fly astronauts to and from the International Space Station.

Musk says he hopes to produce 30 to 50 Block 5s for the Falcon 9. "This rocket is really created to be - the intent is to be the most reliable rocket ever built".

Although this maiden voyage was a success, don't expect to see this particular Block 5 go back into space anytime soon."Ironically, we need to take it apart to confirm that it does not need to be taken apart", Musk said.

"Once Bangabandhu Satellite-1 is operational, Bangladesh will be autonomous in terms of telecommunications and broadcasting services, being able to offer communications services to many foreign countries, such as Nepal, Myanmar or Bhutan under its coverage area", the representatives added. The satellite Bangabandhu-1 is named after Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the assassinated founder of Bangladesh.
