Burger King mocks IHOb name change and people are loving it

The internet was buzzing last week after then-IHOP announced on Monday, June 4, that the restaurant would be making a dramatic change to their infamous brand by flipping the "p" in their logo to a "b". A bold move if you ask me, considering that they are located right across the street from In n' Out Burger. "Burgers are the most consumed entree item for men, women and children in America". "We are definitely going to be IHOP", Darren Rebelez, president of IHOP, told CNNMoney.

In a tweet, the company said that it is officially changing its name to IHOb or the International House of Burgers.

Revealing "burgers" on Monday, the company said it was a temporary change to celebrate the release of its new "Ultimate Steakburgers" menu category. IHOP (IHOB) wants to be known as a place to get lunch and dinner, not just breakfast and brunch.

"We have a big announcement", read the Phillies' tweet. Whataburger wrote that it would never change its name to Whatapancake, and Red Robin joked it's "as serious about pancakes as @IHOb is about burgers".

It was a marketing strategy and publicity stunt combined on the part of IHOP.
