'Embarrassed' Phil Mickelson Apologises Following US Open Meltdown

I've had multiple times when I've wanted to do that. Mickelson hit a bogey putt beyond the hole and down a slope, but before the ball could come to rest, Mickelson raced over and hit the ball back toward the hole.

"I hope it doesn't damage his reputation too badly", said Paul Azinger, a former US Ryder Cup captain commentating for Fox television.

He chatted with his family after emerging from the scoring room, and then signed autographs before walking away.

Davis said Mickelson said to him "Mike, I don't want to play in this championship if I should have been disqualified".

Mickelson, who turned 48 on Saturday, will have to wait until Pebble Beach next June for another chance to complete a career grand slam.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra make their relationship Instagram official
Worldwide star Priyanka Chopra and American singer-songwriter Nick Jonas have been under the scanner in the past few days. 'He's dated a lot over the last couple years but it's never been anything serious, so this is a big step'.

"Look, I don't mean disrespect to anybody", Mickelson said after the incident on Saturday. She told the media he had offered to withdraw, but had been informed by USGA CEO Mike Davis that he had been playing within the rules.

Despite Mickelson's explanation, Johnston's first impression was that frustration got the better of him.

The five-time major victor was four over par for his third round on Saturday when he over-hit a putt on the 13th green and, seeing where it was headed, ran around and struck it again to incur a two-shot penalty.

That incurred a two-shot penalty under Rule 14-5 when many felt Mickelson should have either been disqualified or chose to withdraw under Rule 1-2.

Mickelson finished the U.S. Open in a tie for 48th.

Game of Thrones co-stars Kit Harington, Rose Leslie to Wednesday
But numerous actors and actress reunited today to witness GOT stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie , both 31, get married. Kit , who plays Jon Snow on Game Of Thrones , is marrying his co-star Rose Leslie in Scotland today (23 June).

A putt rolled past the hole and was going downhill. It's meant to take advantage of the rules as best you can.

A day after telling his critics to "toughen up", Phil Mickelson was far less forthcoming about the controversy surrounding his two-shot penalty in the third round of the US Open. "I don't know if I'd go to the lengths he went to make a statement like that, but I felt there was a massive overreaction to it".

And according to Amy Mickelson, who spoke with reporters after Mickelson's Sunday round, he did exactly that.

Another rule (1-2) declaring that "a player must not take an action with the intent to influence the movement of a ball in play" could have been applied.

"I think it is a shame that the main focus hasn't been Brooks Koepka winning back-to-back titles, from what I've seen or heard", Spieth said. "It was clearly not my finest moment and I'm sorry".
