Jon Bernthal, who starred as Shane in the AMC show's first two seasons, is going to appear in an episode of the show's next season, Variety has confirmed with sources.

Things got messy, though, when we learned that while Rick had been thought dead, his wife, Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) and Shane had comforted each other.

Bullish Harry Kane says World Cup can be his first trophy
And with Harry Kane up front - supported by a sprinkling of vibrant, young, pacy attackers - there is room for optimism. Southgate said: "I think if it's a penalty at one end it has to be a penalty at the other".

Speculation that Bernthal might be back for another cameo began over the weekend when a fan spotted him in the background of an Instagram photo featuring Lincoln and co-star Norman Reedus. He also now stars in the Marvel-Netflix series "The Punisher", a role he originated in Season 2 of "Daredevil".

Of course, Bernthal played Shane Walsh on the first two seasons of the show. Shane also happens to be the biological father of Rick's daughter Judith. A bearded Bernthal actually returned for a brief cameo in season 3 courtesy of a Rick Grimes vision at Woodbury, but has not been seen since. If Rick's about to die in season 9, either of these would make sense as a storytelling device to bring his journey full circle.

There's no word yet on date, but it's been Friday for years, and is likely to be Friday again, with back-to-back panels for both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead.
