Sky Sports claim Liverpool's decision to look elsewhere has boosted Real Madrid's chances of signing Alisson.

Liverpool have been told goalkeeping target Alisson is "very happy" at Roma and would be "content" to remain at the club.

Liverpool had been hoping that they could swoop in before the start of the tournament in Russian Federation and confirm the arrival of a new goalkeeper, a position which is in dire need of improvement after Loris Karius' performance in the Champions League final.

"There are options that we are working on, together with Roma and with respect for my club", he told Globoesporte.

'If it's not resolved before the World Cup, then it will be discussed after it because my head will be focused only on Brazil. "We'll see if anything happens this week".

It could be, however, that Karius is being granted another chance and Liverpool rescinding interest in Alisson is Klopp's way of showing his faith in his goalkeeper.

Brazilian outlet Terra claim Liverpool have launched a R$285m offer for the 25-year-old, which works out at £57m.

Alisson has admitted he wants to sort his future before the World Cup, which gets underway on Thursday.

Though he is contracted to Roma until 2021, Alisson is likely to move this summer and he is keen to hear news before the tournament starts in Russian Federation.

"I hope it will be resolved, yes, before the World Cup, that's what I want, to be honest".

"If it's not before the first game, it will be after the World Cup, that's my thinking 100 percent", Alisson continued.
