Telltale also reached out to Mashable and added: "We can confirm Minecraft: Story Mode is a licensed 5-episode interactive narrative series coming to our service this fall". "There's a broad spectrum of entertainment available today", the company explained.
It further stated that Stranger Things: The Game will be headed to mainstream gaming platforms via Telltale Games in future, and Netflix's role in this will be limited to marketing and promotion.
'Don't expect too much': Rodman plays down Kim Trump breakthrough
A White House read-out of Trump's meetings with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong today did not include mention of a state visit. She said their belief is that it occurred "because South Korea attacked them, which is not true". "Now we have this meeting".
"We're delighted by the response we're seeing to the idea of Minecraft: Story Mode coming to Netflix in the fall as an interactive adventure", Telltale said in a statement to Deadline. And more importantly (I think, anyway), a new game based on the hit Netflix series Stranger Things series is also in the works.
UPDATE: Netflix got back to us.
Update, 1:40PM ET: Immediately after this story was published, CNET released a report of its own with clarification from Netflix.
At the moment however, no deal between Netflix and Telltale Games has been made official, though the sources say that an announcement of such a partnership is imminent. This would include Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and even smart televisions with a built in Netflix app. Chromecast might be possible if the user could input commands from their device. That could be why its critically acclaimed adaptations of "The Walking Dead" and "Game of Thrones" have worked in the past, and why a "Stranger Things" adaptation sounds like a good fit.
Neymar and Coutinho egged by Brazil team-mates
The Selecao superstar moved to 55 goals in 85 caps, equaling the record of 1994 World Cup victor Romario. However, he was a different player in Vienna and managed to score his 10th goal in 17 games for Brazil .
The alleged joint partnership between Telltale and Netflix raises some eyebrows considering Telltale has an existing partnership with HBO - yet another prime rival of Netflix.
The technology site TechRadar was the first to report the collaboration.
The source has stated that playable demos have been in existence for almost a year, meaning that the announcement of a partnership may occur any day. However, plans do change, and if this goes over well there's always that sliver of a chance that Netflix may expand beyond traditional video streaming down the line.
