Nadal plans to return to Paris in 2019 and try and clinch a 12th title at Roland Garros.

The Spaniard's reign on the clay of Roland Garros has been unprecedented and has been one of the surest things in tennis history.

Since Nadal won his first major at Roland Garros in 2005, the "Big Four" have claimed 48 of the past 53 Grand Slam titles.

"I think today I played my best match of the tournament", Nadal said.
