Sarah Sanders asked to leave Red Hen restaurant for her political affiliation

Wilkinson is not sure what all the ruckus surrounding Sanders' visit will mean for her restaurant, but she made it clear that she would do it again.

The waiter also said in subsequent comments on his post that Sanders "seemed pretty nice", but that "she was asked to leave because the owner felt that [Sanders's] moral decisions conflicted with her own".

According to the Press Secretary's personal Twitter account, she was asked to leave the Red Hen in Lexington on Friday night by the owner because she works for the president. A number of people criticized the restaurant for the move on the it's Yelp page.

The first lady's team insisted that there was no hidden meaning behind the sartorial choice. The $39 olive-colored Zara jacket has since sold out on the retailer's website.

It was the second night in recent days that a member of the Trump administration was hounded from a restaurant.

There were some positive comments, with one Yelper writing, "Best restaurant in the world".

Speaking to The Washington Post, Red Hen owner Stephanie Wilkinson said she was actually home when she got a phone call informing her that Sanders had walked into her small, farm-to-table restaurant.

Mrs Sanders" father Mike Huckabee, the former Republican presidential candidate, said: "Bigotry. Some supporters of Sanders and Trump panned the restaurant, while their opponents backed the Red Hen and one complained of death threats. "The only thing served here ... if they agree to serve you.is a heaping plate of arrogance and hypocrisy", Yelper Russell H of McKinney, Texas, wrote on Saturday morning in a one-star review. "And appetizers are 'small plates for small minds'".

The incident comes days after protesters assailed Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at a Mexican restaurant in downtown Washington, just as the administration was coming under fire for its policy of separating undocumented immigrant families at the US border with Mexico.
