Say goodbye to Yahoo Messenger!


Yahoo Messenger is shutting down. The company announced today that it will be pulling the plug on its popular chat service on July 17, after which users won't be able to access or sign in on Yahoo Messenger. Oath discontinued AIM on December 15, 2017, and now it's gearing up to do the same with Yahoo's competing Yahoo Messenger app. Yahoo IDs will remain in service for access to Mail and fantasy sports.

As for what Yahoo recommends you do following the loss of Messenger, they say you should give Squirrel a try, its invite-only group messaging app that you can request an invite for here.
