US, Mexico and Canada to host 2026 World Cup finals

On Wednesday, FIFA member countries voted 134-65 for the three nations over the other candidate, Morocco. The US, however, hosted the World Cup on its own merit in 1994, while Mexico have twice before organised the tournament, in 1970 and in 1986.

North America's "United" bid secured the World Cup hosting rights after a vote by Federation Internationale de Football Association member nations today (June 13).
