After Washington's hockey team won the NHL championship on Thursday night with a 4-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights, Trump said he would like to have the Capitals come to the White House. "No, I didn't invite LeBron James, and I didn't invite Steph Curry". 'I'm pretty sure the way we handled things previous year, [we will] kinda stay consistent with that, ' Curry said Tuesday when asked whether the Warriors would skip the visit should they win this time. When told of LeBron's comments, Curry said that he agreed players from either team won't want an invite.

Earlier this week, members of both National Basketball Association teams - and especially James - ripped Trump over his decision to disinvite the NFL's Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles from the White House.

"It's typical of him", James said of cancelling the Eagles visit. "It won't be Cleveland or Golden State going", James said. He said they're not invited.

On Tuesday, LeBron James said neither his Cavaliers nor the Warriors would accept a visit as a victor of the NBA Finals.

It is important to note, however, that no Eagles players kneeled during the national anthem last season, TIME confirmed. Even though Curry and James are now facing off the finals, both players agree that a visit is nothing short of unwanted and unnecessary.

Essentially, the team just ignored Trump.

Trump's attacks on kneeling football players always draw applause at his rallies and he has urged fans to leave a game if they see a player kneeling.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Trump had "made it pretty clear he's going to try to divide us. for political gain". "Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!" he wrote in 2017.

Stephen Curry, who's LeBron's opposition on the court, is on board with him on the anti-Trump train. I think that's important. He told reporters today that he might pardon Muhammad Ali (whose 1967 draft evasion conviction was already overturned, in 1971, by the U.S. Supreme Court).
