India's women cricket team coach Tushar Arothe has stepped down from the role, citing personal reasons, the BCCI announced on Tuesday. BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary, GM (Cricket Operations) Saba Karim and CEO Rahul Johri were also present. Even though neither the players nor Arothe had accepted or refuted the claims openly, the two parties are believed to have met BCCI officials separately with their grievances.

The Indian women's cricket coach has quit just over year into the job after a string of defeats and apparently alienating players, four months before the World Twenty20. However, with India ending runners-up to England at the mega-event, Arothe, along with assistant coach Biju George and physiotherapist Tracy Fernandes, were handed a two-year contract by the BCCI.
"We will again put up an advertisement and interview process will be followed", said the official.
