Fetus discovered by crew on plane from Charlotte to NY, sources say

A fetus was discovered on an American Airlines flight at LaGuardia Airport Tuesday morning, sources told WABC.

Sources said American Airlines flight 1942 arrived to Terminal B from Charlotte, N.C. Monday at 10:44 p.m.

NY reported the plane, flight number 1942, departed Charlotte, NC on Monday night and arrived at LaGuardia late Monday night.

After the aircraft - an Airbus A321 - remained on the ground overnight, a cleaning crew came on board ahead of the plane's planned Tuesday departure.

Fetus was thought to be 5 months along.

While an NYC Medical Examiner is investigating the cause of the baby's death, American Airlines tweeted that Terminal B could experience delays Tuesday morning. "We will release determination when investigation is complete".
