Margot Kidder's Death Ruled Suicidal Overdose

Park County coroner Richard Wood said in a statement released today that Kidder "died as a result of a self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose" and that no further details would be released.

In what may have been her final interview before her death, Kidder told WWJ's Sandra McNeill on May 9 she was "sad but not that sad" when her "Superman" co-star Christopher Reeve became a quadriplegic.

Margot Kidder, who played Louis Lane in four Superman movies during the 70s and 80s died by suicide, after coroners reached a cause of death following her passing in May.

Her obituary in the New York Times did not specify a cause of death.

The actress who was bipolar told People magazine in 1996 about her mental health problem and revealed that she had taken an overdose at 14 and badly from suffered mood swings.

"It's a big relief that the truth is out there", McGuane said.

As it was previously reported, the police discovered Margot passed away on the 13th of May in her home in Livingston. She believes it is important to be open and honest about suicide and not hide it. She continued to act in many movies and TV shows, most recently the 2017 film "The Neighborhood". I want what I know about her to be out there because it was glorious. A friend discovered Kidder's body at her home on May 13th. Since the 2000s, her acting career had picked back up again and she was starring on Smallville, Brothers and Sisters, the L Word, R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour, and she was appearing on Broadway.

She spoke openly about how she had wandered around Los Angeles for days during that episode, and she said in 2008 that she did not like the words "mental illness".

"It's a very unique sort of grief and pain", McGuane said.
