Mobile Announces New Lower Cost 'T-Mobile Essentials' Plan

T-Mobile this Friday will start offering a cheaper version of its unlimited plan, dubbed T-Mobile Essentials, priced at four lines for $120.

The company on Monday announced a new plan it's calling T-Mobile Essentials. Most importantly, the company says that "during times and places with heavy network demand, Essentials customers may notice slower speeds than other customers". If you add ONE Plus “for the whole family”, you can have it for the previous rate of $10 per month per line. Adding the third and fourth line cost $15 each, bringing the total cost for a family of four to $120 per month. Also, despite being advertized as an unlimited plan, throttling still hits after you pass over 50GB of used data in a month. Essentials includes unlimited talk, text, and 2G data when roaming, but only in Canada and Mexico. If you'd like to upgrade to 4G LTE mobile hotspot, you can pay $10 per month to get 10GB at LTE speeds.

Well have to wait until T-Mobile releases its terms and conditions for the new plan to see exactly which of the T-Mobile perks it will or will not include. Now customers need to add taxes and fees to an advertised price – we thought T-Mobile was past this. [T-Mobile] wants to make it easy.
