Paramount Pictures has released a new worldwide trailer for the Transformers prequel movie Bumblebee.

Since Bumblebee is set in the '80s, years before Michael Bay's original Transformers movies, viewers know that war isn't going anywhere. Bumblebee hits theaters December 21.

49ers fear QB Jimmy Garoppolo has torn ACL
Exactly how this impacts the remainder of San Francisco's season is yet to be determined, although it can't look good. But it ended in a odd sequence that began with Garoppolo taking a hard hit from Steven Nelson along the sideline.

The Transformers series, despite good box office collections, has suffered from awful reviews - but this new prequel, without Michael Bay, could be its best entry yet.

Bumblebee won't be the only Transformer to appear in the film. The film marks the live-action debut of Laika CEO and president Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) directing from a script by Christina Hodson (Shut In, Unforgettable).

Six Flags Fright Fest 30-Hour Coffin Challenge
The theme park has announced a competition inviting guests to stay in a tight coffin for almost 30 hours straight. As Six Flags puts it on their website: "Breakfast in bed... well all meals, snacks and drinks in bed actually".

The film sees Bumblebee taking refuge in a small Californian beach town junkyard, where a teenage girl, Charlie (Steinfeld), takes him in.

Alexa is everywhere, even the microwave
Amazon on Thursday teased a coming feature called Alexa Hunches that is created to infuse the digital assistant with intuition. Amazon also revealed a redesign of its hockey puck-shaped Echo Dot , saying that it is louder than the previous version.

To be fair though, this seems like the same "child and their dog" story that audiences have seen hundreds of times, the "child" played by True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld, and the dog here is replaced by an alien cybernetic robot that turns into a damn vehicle. Set in 1987, the film follows Charlie as she buys Bee (back in his old Herbie form - not the Camaro we see in the 2007 Transformers movies) and discovers who he really is - getting roped into an adventure that sees Bee trying to stop a bunch of escaped Decepticons wreaking havoc on Earth. A certain yellow VW Beetle catches her eye and she asks the proprietor if its for sale. "I hope you all enjoy what we've made and that we honor the fans and characters of this storied franchise".
