Forecasters downgrade ‘risk to life’ threat of Storm Helene

Western parts of the United Kingdom are expected to be the worst affected, but the Met Office warning covers the North East too. Bringing with it a spell of wet, windy weather.

"The centre of the storm will go up through the middle of Ireland and most of the strong winds will be in the Irish sea and to the west of Scotland".

Transition to ex-tropical Storm Helene or "Storm Helene" is expected by Sunday evening. "Some hazy sunshine and we could see temperatures lifting into the mid-20s".
