Needles found in more Australian strawberries, A$100k reward offered


Four punnets of Berry Licious and Berry Obsession strawberries, two in Queensland and two in Victoria, have been found to contain needles.

A Coles customer found pins sticking from the sabotaged fruit after purchasing the punnet from a supermarket in Engadine in Sydney's south on Friday.

The incident was reported to authorities on Thursday, but the strawberry punnet targeted was a different brand to other confirmed discoveries.

NSW Police are also urging anyone who has purchased contaminated product to take the punnet to their local police station immediately for triage and forensic examination.

Contaminated punnets have been found across the country, in supermarkets in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk told media on Saturday investigators were doing "everything they possibly can" to find those responsible for the tampering, and pleaded with the public to come forward if they knew any information.
