West Nile virus affects community


The first human West Nile virus case for 2018 has been confirmed by the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department.

One Gainesville resident said he will be more careful when going out, Manuel Guerrero said, "I do have kids, and I get eaten alive by mosquito's if there's any mosquito's within the area and so are my kids, so yeah that's something to be anxious about".

The department said the occasional dip in day and evening temperatures hasn't removed the risk of contracting West Nile virus.
